Jim Lee
Jim has been the Superintendent of
FoxCreek Golf and Racquet Club since February of 2001. Jim oversees a crew of 10 and maintains the golf course and the club grounds. Jim is a member of the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation and is licensed by the state of Ohio in Commercial Pesticide Applications. He is responsible for the growing in of 12 green and the new tee on 18.
Jim has been working in the golf
industry since 1988. He started out building courses for the LaConte family who own and operate National Golf Operations Inc. He started with the clearing of trees then moved to operating heavy equipment used in the shaping of tees, fairways, bunkers and greens. Also, Jim oversaw the installation of an irrigation system and the growing in of the golf course of which he later became the Superintendent. In 1993, Jim became assistant to Bill Montague at Oakwood Club in Cleveland Heights.
Jim is involved with the Lorain County J.V.S. as part
of an advisory committee on forming classes in Horticulture. He also teaches proper horticultural practices to students on field trips. It is not uncommon to see Jim mowing
grass, working in a hole, or even helping bring in bags for golfers coming in to play an outing. Jim is the father of two boys and enjoys O-gauge trains, NASCAR, and driving the course with MidgeLumme', the course's boarder collie and chief goose-eliminator. According to Jim, the best part of his job is knowing he has guided young individuals on their paths to becoming future Golf Course Superintendents.
